Dignity Foundation’s “Adopt a Dignity Family” Christmas Program Gives Parents the Gift of Choice, Bringing Hope, Joy and Dignity to Local Families

This holiday season, Dignity Foundation invites the community to join in the spirit of giving through its Adopt a Dignity Family program, a heartfelt initiative under the Foundation’s Dignity Kids initiative. The effort connects caring community members with families transitioning to stable, independent housing. It ensures children across our community experience the joy and love of a meaningful Christmas while giving parents the opportunity to choose gifts for their children with care and dignity.
Through Adopt a Dignity Family, sponsors make it possible for parents to experience the joy of selecting gifts for their own children. Rather than providing preselected items or wish lists, Dignity Foundation offers a thoughtful shopping experience where parents can choose toys, clothing, and essentials that best fit their children’s needs and wishes.
Because this initiative is part of Dignity Kids, parents don’t just shop for gifts; they also have the opportunity to select much needed essentials such as a crib, car seat, high chair, or diapers and wipes. By combining both practical support and the joy of giving, parents feel cared for and equipped to continue making progress. Most importantly, they experience dignity, the dignity that comes with being able to make their own choices and provide for their family.
“At Dignity Foundation, we know the holidays can be especially difficult for families who are already facing so much,” said Kathleen Trapp, Executive Director of Dignity Foundation. “This program gives our community a way to remind them that they are not alone, that their journey matters, and that they are surrounded by people who care.”
Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate by sponsoring a family or donating funds. The program runs through December 12, 2025, with all gifts distributed before Christmas. Together, we can bring the joy of the season and the dignity of choice to families across our community.
